Andrew Simpson — Principal Lawyer
Andrew has been an admitted lawyer since April 1995, spending the majority of his career in the area of Wills & Estates. He started his legal career at Moores. He was a principal lawyer at Moores from 2001 until September 2014, during which time he established and led the Wills & Estates team. From November 2014 to May 2023, Andrew was a principal lawyer and National Head of the Wills & Estates division at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers.
Andrew has written extensively on the subject including the following;
You Can’t Take it With You, (Wright Books, 2009);
The Australian Guide to Wills and Estate Planning (Wright Books, 2019);
Master Financial Planning Guide (CCH), co-author (1997 to 2022);
The Lawyers Practice Manual (Springvale Legal Service), 2022, co-author.
Andrew was recognised by Doyles’ Guide as a recommended estate litigation lawyer from 2018 to 2022.
Andrew was an adjunct lecturer at Charles Sturt University where he created and taught a subject on estate planning in the Masters of Financial Planning course.
In 2004, Andrew was awarded a Churchill Fellowship and spent time in the USA, Canada and the UK researching the international approaches to Elder Law.
